Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is a highly sought-after facility by
car and motorcycle clubs. It also frequently hosts automobile
companies, driving instruction programs and major race
sanctioning bodies. Consequently, the calendar fills up
quickly.
All track rentals and events are subject to approval by SCRAMP
and the County of Monterey Parks Department. Due to the number of
requests, it is unfortunate that not all requests may be
fulfilled.

SCRAMP (Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula)

those facilities are built.
The Laguna Seca Raceway Fund is a non-profit group that helps
fund improvements at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca through private
donations from fans and racers. This is where you, the motorsport
enthusiast, can help.
The Laguna Seca Raceway Fund is an established non-profit 501(c)3
corporation with the purpose of raising the necessary capital to
implement these improvements. In addition to the Steps to the
Corkscrew Program, you can make donations directly to the Fund
that are fully tax-deductible.

An important part of a race weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
is the operation of the Pace Car and Safety Vehicles. These
vehicles are used to pace the races to the green flag, as well as
to bring the race cars under control in the event of a
full-course yellow flag. They are also used for demonstration
laps for VIPs and special guests.
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is the only race track to have its pace
car program involved in every major event each year and
throughout every aspect of the facility. Started in 2003 with the
support of Mazda, the program has an impeccable safety record of
more than 5,000 track laps without a single injury, accident or
failed car part.
The Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Pace and Safety Car program has has
hosted a number of illustrious guest drivers such as Mario
Andretti, Danny Sullivan and Nigel Olson, famed drummer for Elton
John. The team has also welcomed some famous guests in the
passenger seat including Brad Pitt, Patrick Dempsey, F1 Legend
Phil Hill, Carroll Shelby, famed Mazda RX-8 designer Ikuo Maeda
and Peter Birtwhistle Chief Designer of the Mazda MX-5, among
others.
What cyclist wouldn’t enjoy the thrill of a challenging 300-foot
climb followed by an awe-inspiring descent? How about the fact
that they can do this on a world-renowned race track?
Monthly twilight rides allow cyclists to experience the
excitement of pedaling Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, an 11-turn,
2.238-mile course. The ride is highlighted by the legendary
Corkscrew turn that drops an equivalent of 5 1/2 stories. Rides
run from 5:30–7:30 p.m., and are open to all levels of cyclists.
Helmets are required and the cost is $10 per rider.
Each month is hosted by a different local bicycle club,
organization or business, some holding competitions such as time
trials or criterium races and many with off-track activities such
as barbecue dinners, costume contests and giveaways.
