Mans Series has become the world’s premier sports car series in
just 12 years.
What Makes it Unique?
The American Le Mans Series, like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has
multiple classes of cars racing on the track at the same time,
making for exciting passing and confrontations throughout the
race.
Each car has two drivers (three for the longer endurance races)
who can switch during the course of the race.
Neel Jani won his second straight pole position in the American
Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón on Friday with a lap
of1:13.429 (109.722 mph) in Rebellion Racing’s No. 12 Rebellion
Timepieces/Lemo Connectors/Speedy Garage Toyota-powered Lola
coupe. On his first ALMS trip to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Jani
went 0.377 seconds quicker in qualifying for Saturday’s American
Le Mans Monterey than Dyson Racing’s Guy Smith in the No. 16
Mazda/Thetford/Norcold Mazda-powered Lola.
Rebellion Racing turned the quickest lap in Thursday’s two-hour
test session at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in preparation for
Saturday’s American Le Mans Monterey, the third round of the 2013
American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón.

This past weekend, Sonoma’s Infineon Raceway staged the second
Ferrari Racing Days of the season, the first in North America,
providing the perfect backdrop to a special event that saw over
four hundred Ferrari owners take to the track. Providing further
excitement were the Ferrari Challenge races and sessions for
those entered in the F1 and XX programmes, who were able to drive
their own cars, under the guidance of engineers from the Corse
Clienti department and instructors, including the Scuderia’s Marc
Gene.

In GRAND-AM Road Racing, the Rolex Sports Car Series features
Daytona Prototypes and production-based GT cars running

has done the same for high-performance, production-based sports

Work starts in earnest this week for the owner of CJ Wilson
Racing as the Major League Baseball season gets underway after
six weeks of pre-season training. For All-Star pitcher, CJ
Wilson’s Austin based Grand Am Continental Tire Sports Car
Challenge team; Round 3 at Barber Motorsports Park offers the
chance of a fresh start and a genuine swing at the title next
fall.
With uniqueness and modernity at the forefront, the new United
SportsCar Racing platform was revealed (#TheReveal) today at
Sebring International Raceway, resulting from the merger of
GRAND-AM Road Racing and the American Le Mans Series presented by
Tequila Patrón.
GRAND-AM and the American Le Mans Series recently revealed the
class structure for their unified Series schedule to debut in
2014.
The majority of classes from both ALMS and Grand-Am Rolex Sports
Car Series were retained. The only exception was ALMS’ P1
prototype class which was not included.
With individual class names to be determined, here is a look at
the planned structure:

Dani Pedrosa clinched his maiden victory of this year’s MotoGP™
World Championship, winning the Gran Premio bwin de España on
Sunday, as teammate Marc Marquez spiced up proceedings by barging
past Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo for second place in
the final corner.
The first European Grand Prix weekend of the 2013 season, the
Gran Premio Bwin de España, got underway today at the Jerez de la
Frontera circuit in Southern Spain.

history by returning them to the race track to compete as they
once did. Entering its 38th year of vintage racing, the event is

d’Elegance of the famed Monterey Classic Car Week that annually
attracts thousands to the picturesque Monterey peninsula for
events, auctions and a sundry of activities.
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s official artist, Bill Patterson,
today unveiled this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion
poster art that features the red, white and blue 1967 Chevrolet
Corvette.
The reveal was held inside Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s exhibit at
the Long Beach Grand Prix in front of an appreciative crowd of
race enthusiasts and motorsports journalists.
The field for this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is
taking shape as 533 historic race cars have been initially
accepted for the August 16-18 event. The Governing Committee has
the option of accepting an additional 17 cars to complete the
grid for the annual race at Mazda Raceway Laquna Seca.
“What a joyous moment it is to get the notification that my car
and I have been accepted to the event,” said Pen Pendelton of Los
Angeles, Calif., who will be driving a 1961 Alsbury Special. “It
is really an honor to be a part of something so special.”
The Corvette logo lit up the side of the building like Batman’s
beacon call. It was a fitting entry for a first-hand visit to the
world introduction of the redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Corvette.
