The Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix featuring the MotoGP World
Championship returns to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for its eighth
consecutive year in 2012.
MotoGP is the premier motorcycle racing World Championship; an
eighteen-race series visiting fourteen countries, four continents
and with global television coverage. Nine nationalities of the
world’s most skilled riders line a grid armed with cutting edge
motorcycle technology with prototype machinery fielded by three
manufacturers; Ducati, Yamaha and Honda.
More than 2.2 million people came through the gates of the
circuits to watch MotoGP in 2011.
The stars of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series will visit
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca September 7-9. The Continental Tire
Sports Car Series, powered by MAZDA, will feature competition in
the Daytona Prototype class, and the Grand Touring (GT) category.
Grand-Am racing events typically feature some of the most
exciting competition in all of racing, with drivers bumping and
barging their way past each other in the race to the checkered
flag.
The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is a cornerstone of
Monterey Peninsula’s Classic Car Week. The 2012 event’s featured
marque is the iconic Shelby Cobra. Only around 550 vehicles will
be accepted, based on the car’s authenticity, race provenance and
period correctness. Nearly every decade of motorsports history
will be represented in what is described as a museum springing to
life.
Don’t miss out on all the activities and premier parking for your
Shelby Cobra at this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion,
August 17-19. Whether it is an authentic (CSX 2000/3000) Cobra,
continuation Cobra or a replica Cobra, the Cobra Corral is for
you to conveniently park, enjoy friends and be near all the
on-track action.
The Northern California Shelby Club is currently selling
admission tickets and corral parking for Shelby Cobras inside the
Yamaha Marketplace. But to ensure there is space for your Cobra,
advance purchase is required.
Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo retook the championship
lead once again at the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France as he
dominated in tricky conditions, finishing ahead of Valentino
Rossi, who recorded his best Ducati result ever.
